BMW has officially unveiled the second-gen X5 M50d performance diesel SUV having previewed the model while revealing the X5 M Sport back in May. Based on the latest 2014 X5, the sporty oil-burning SUV is a product of BMW’s M Performance line motivated by the world’s most powerful straight-six diesel unit. The 3.0-liter triple-turbocharged six-cylinder engine is rated at 381 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic box and xDrive AWD system.

0-62 mph is quoted at 5.3 secs, top speed is limited to 155 mph and economy is an impressive 35 mpg.
